A Very Spooky Sammy Story

Halloween evening

Good evening friends.

Alexandra Garcy here with a story fitting for this picture.

It was a dark , eerie Halloween night and the Sammy family pups were gathered in a circle around a plastic jack-o-lantern which served as the only source of illumination in their otherwise pitch-black room. They were telling lots of scary stories and Henry was becoming more and more frightened with each passing second. Not even the wide variety of candies in his trick-or-treat bag ( made specially by pet owners, to be safe for dogs such as himself, of course ), served as a comfort.

As Jeffrey was finishing up his thrilling tale, none had noticed that Patrick had snuck away from the group.

“The human communication device was ringing and ringing…! And then at the very last moment–!” Jeffrey uttered dramatically , nearing the story’s conclusion. Everyone was on the edge of their seats! When suddenly, without skipping a beat..

“BOO!” Yelled a very spooky ghost as it popped up directly behind Sammy & Crew.

“AHHHH!!!” The puppies shrieked with terror and reeled backwards, Henry darting under the couch without a moment’s deliberation whilst Jeffrey held out the glowing jack-o-lantern as a sort of make-shift defense. “Im a spooky Halloween ghost! Give me all of your candy or else I’ll haunt you guys!” Howled the apparition.

“EEP!! OKAY!” Jeffrey yelped and made a direct bee-line toward the candy bowl. “Hold it, you guys!” Sammy interjected , eyeing the ghost skeptically.

“This isn’t a spooky scary Halloween ghost!” He exclaimed and yanked the white bed sheet off the mysterious figure, revealing it’s true identity.

“Patrick?!” Kelly gasped. Patrick sighed in exasperation and turned to his Pomeranian friend. “How’d you know it was me?!” He asked.
“You’re tail was sticking out ‘and’ you’re not a very good actor!” Sammy barked , matter-of-factly, receiving a disgruntled frown from Patrick.

Henry, meanwhile was still trembling under the couch, whimpering. “Now , you’ve scared Henry half to death! You should apologize.” Reprimanded Kelly.

“No, that’s okay. I was already pretty scared.” Henry sighed. “I don’t like Halloween very much. It’s too spooky for me. With all the nasty spider decorations a-and scary monster costumes and creepy stories. I always get really anxious and it’s hard to have fun.” He said.

Sammy frowned sympathetically. “Well Henry, remember ‘Theres nothing to fear but fear itself’! All those decorations and costumes and stories are just that. They’re just things to make you scared but they aren’t real. Don’t let them stop you from having fun!” Sammy stated with an encouraging grin.

Henry pondered on Sammy’s words for a moment and then smiled. “Yeah , you’re right, Sammy!” He replied and joined his friends once more. “Lets hear the end of the story!” Henry said with new-found confidence.

Then the puppies spent the rest of the night laughing and eating candy , already excited for when Halloween would come again next year.
