Sha Omar and Sammy

Sha Omar and Sammy

Good morning friends.

This is Sammy & Family’s friends Sha Omar from Singapore holding Sammy, and her friend Gin from Brooklyn.  Gin is also a friend of ours.  This was a happy day for all of us.  Sammy really took to Sha and Gin.

Anytime Sammy & Family sees this picture, we see a lot of happiness.  Hoping Sha and Gin are doing well and happy in their lives.

Have a great Thursday friends.

The Best Things In Life are Free

The Best Things In Life are Free

Good morning friends.

Sammy loves to be high up on my shoulders.  He’s only one foot tall, so he’s always looking up. This is his “View from the top” so to speak, or his “SUV”(riding on a truck) position.

Tall, medium or short, his zeal for life is unprecedented.  He’s taught me a lot in that way.  When Sammy is out and about, he’s happy.  That’s all it take, nothing more.  Why is that ?  Its because just like the slogan says; “The best things in life are free”

Happy Saturday.

Brooke Johnson and Sammy

Brooke Johnson and Sammy

Good morning friends.

Happy Throwback Thursday.  This is our great friend Brooke Johnson.  We met Brooke in July of 2013 I believe.  She had been visiting NYC from Georgia.  It was a real treat for Sammy & Family.

Brooke is a great friend to animals and has a passion for horses.  If i remember correctly she’s a pretty good rider also.  I believe she can be called an Equestrian, i think that is the term.

Looking back on the past three years, Sammy & Family is happy we got to meet so many people before we left NYC.  Day 54 here in Puerto Rico.  Life is good.

Have a great day Brooke, and have a great day to all our friends around the world.

Goodnight from Sammy & Family

Goodnight on February 26th, 2015

Good evening friends.

Hope everyone had a nice day today.  Day 46 here in Puerto Rico.  Today I finally branched out and walked three blocks away from the house to get a haircut.  It was the first haircut since I’ve been here and a result I had really long surfers hair with a lot of split ends, lol.  Thank God the barber was a real artist.

Today I worked on this Puppy’s Blog piece for 5 hours that I’ve been telling you about.  This feature is so creative and imaginative that i almost want to show it tonight.  It’s difficult to keep surprises.

Speaking of surprises, March 14th, Sammy is going to be 10 years old.  I know I’ve mentioned that a few times already, but I want to make it a great bash for my boy.  With that said, we are inviting picture posts with birthday messages from from friends around the world.  Maybe we can do like a Sammy Birthday Marathon of posts going up all day long.

To me, Sammy shook up the world just like Muhammad Ali and Sylvester Stallone did.

Winter Fun On Pilgrim Hill, Central Park

Pilgrim Hill

Good morning friends.

Happy Throwback Thursday.  Here’s a little piece I wrote on Winters on Pilgrim Hill in Central Park.

If you are passionate about skiing or sledding and you live in NYC, most likely you were at Pilgrim Hill today.

Pilgrim Hill is known for having some of the steepest slopes, it’s truly a winter delight. The moment came and went pretty quickly as snow turned to slush by noon. However, this did not sway New Yorkers who are used to moving fast and were going to opportune the limited time they had. People were pretty creative with how they were going have fun and take full advantage of the snow.

Of course the traditional skis and snowboarding we are all accustomed to seeing were out there in full stride. Many though, were flying by on garbage can lids, tubes and toboggan sleds. Always use caution mind you, lots of kids out there. This morning flew by like lightning, if you caught it though, it was worth the early efforts and hopefully there are more snow days to come, well for kids anyway.

Located by entering Central Park, 72nd street on the East side & Fifth Avenue.

Sammy & Family — A Story of Triumph

Sammy & Family, A Story of Triumph

Good evening friends.

Hope everyone had a nice Wednesday.  Its funny, with the nice weather my boys are breathing better, not sure if that’s in my head, but it appears to be the case.

I just want to say that Vanessa, Raquel, Myriam and their dad are some of the best people I’ve ever met.  I will never forget how this family has backed me up from several years ago until this present day.

I remember i was going to walk away from the Sammy Community after what was taken from Jessica and I in the last project.  I was in complete disgust and shock.   Had Jessica not convinced me to stay with the project  knowing it was a major passion of mine, i was throwing in the towel. With that said, it was not easy working together.   Jess has four kids and i have 3 dogs, two completely different lives and very little in common.

That is where Vanessa and Raquel came in.  The behind the scenes work these two have done allowed me to keep driving ELS and Dr. Harp Seal down the field.

When I think if Jess didn’t force me back to the project, and if Vanessa and Raquel didn’t do all they did, I probably would’ve never met all of you from all over the world.   And that my friends, would’ve been my loss, big time.

As i I look back on all that was taken from Jess and I, and how i almost lost Sammy, I can’t begin to tell you how grateful i am to have come this far with all of you.
