Pugsly & Prayers

Pugsly

Good evening friends. Pugsly will lead us out tonight. Pugsly is now 15 years old, and has been with our friend Marylee since he was only 7 weeks. Marylee reminds Pugsly all the time that he’s the bestest boy in the world.

We figured to share this bond tonight as its a great example of how a dog should be treated, whether they are several weeks old, or many years old.

And with that, Jessica wrote a prayer for pets that are getting older just like the rest of us;

Tonight we send special prayers out for the many senior dogs and cats, that are so in need of loving homes.

Can you imagine or relate to feeling completely abandoned and hopeless in your later years. There are so many older dogs and cats with so much love left to give, that feel this way at this moment.

Many times people don’t adopt elderly pets because they don’t want to go through the pain of losing something they love so soon. A lot of people want a puppy.

We all have known a loved one or pet that we have had to say goodbye to too soon. If we think back on those loved ones, would we want to love them and be loved by them again, even knowing that our time was limited? Of course we would.

So please, when you have room in your heart and in your home for a pet, take the time to sit and get to know the elderly animals in the shelter as well. They deserve to be loved and to not be alone and afraid at the end of their lives. God protect them and let them know love again.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Love to all,
Jessica Lee Smith,
