Time Marches on and so must we by Jessica Smith

Time Marches on and so must we by Jessica Smith

Goodnight dear friends and family.

This is Jessica writing to you tonight. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It’s absolutely beautiful outside.

A lot has happened in the past month. In fact it’s been a while since things have been peaceful.  As many of you can relate, sometimes it feels like just when we climb over one hurdle in life, another seems to comes around the corner. And with all of this, we have to just take each one as they come, and give it our very best fight. I’ve learned to not get too swept over when I am faced with a new challenge. If I spend too much time on my knees from the shock of something, I can get lost in it. I have found that just proceeding ahead, even if I’m crawling, I can somehow make my way over it, inch by inch.

I know there are exceptions to this, of course. So never blame yourself or put a time limit on grief or pain.  The only way over it, is through it. However long that takes. Even if it’s forever, and even if you have to learn to live with a whole new reality, as in the case of losing someone dear to you. There are no rules. Go at your own pace. Nurture yourself always.

I don’t have the answers to everything at all. I am always learning each day,  just as we all are. The only thing that I always tell myself, and I’ve mentioned to all of you before, is that giving up is never an option. I try and think of myself as a soldier many times. Ready to fight anything that is thrown my way. Ready to give it my all. Wether I win or lose, I will always know that I fought and never gave in.

One thing that must remain always in our hearts,  is hope. There is always hope for a better day. There is always hope for all the dreams that we hold close. Never forget that.

Many prayers of love and healing to all of you tonight. May the new week ahead bring all new possibilities into your life.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed.
Amen.

To Love and be Loved

To Love and be Loved

Goodnight Dear Friends and Family.

This is Jessica writing to you tonight. The weekend is right around the corner. We hope that everyone has arrived home safely tonight and that you’re all resting and well.

Its amazing how you can be in the midst of so much turmoil in your life, and miracles and special people seem to show up , even within all of the darkness. These people can somehow feel like Gods messengers. Sometimes you just know that a power greater than you is sending you a lifeline, some sign of hope. A message that you are in fact, not alone, although you may feel that way.

Even here on our Everybody Loves Sammy page, my family and I have been so blessed with special friendships and love. I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to us. It’s just a reminder that when you give out love to others, life sends love right back to you, and we are ever so grateful for that.

The most important thing we can do of all, is absolutely never quit, under any circumstances at all. No matter what comes our way in life, we must make it through to the end and never stop fighting. This is each of our own personal journeys, and each step in this journey is very important to our souls growth. Even the hurtful times have taught us something, although we would have rather have not had those times at all.

What is life really about , if not to love and be loved? What will be our legacy? It is Not the things that we have, but how we have touched the lives of others , how we have loved the most important people in our lives, and how we have been loving and gentle to all living things. This is all we can strive for and hope to attain, and each day is a journey toward that.

Just know that your life means more than you even realize. How you live will leave ripple effects long after you have gone from this world. Your legacy does and will mean something, if you live and love with all of your heart.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Goodnight everybody. Sweet dreams to all.  Jessica Smith for Sammy & Family.

In the name of “D” we pray

Prayers for D, he's fighting for his life and makes the world a better place

Goodnight dear friends and loved ones, this is Jessica.

We hope that you enjoyed your day. Many times even the smallest acts of kindness and scattered moments here and there can mean so much. They can change the course of our whole day.  We pray that everyone has arrived home safely and is relaxing.

We’d like to ask all of our friends out there to Pray for our very dear family friend , who we will call “D” — D is in the hospital at this time and He is facing the biggest fight of his life. We want him to know that he will not face it alone. We met our friend D almost 30 years ago and we simply adore him. He has been an incredible force of positivity and love for our whole family. He is more than a friend to us, he is a member of our family. We hurt when he hurts. But the one thing we know whole heartedly is that this man is a living superhero. He brightens up the lives of everyone he meets and everyone that crosses his path. He has given others hope for all of his life. He has helped people recover from sickness and serious injuries. He has restored the spirits of the broken. He is a very spiritual man and is unconditionally kind to everyone.  He has been there for my family through thick and thin. No one has a heart like his. We love him more than anything.

Please come together in prayer for our loved one. We know that he can pull through this. He is a champion and a fighter like no other, but we need your prayers. We pray that He is fully healed and fully cured. We pray that he has not a day of pain or fear. We pray that he returns home again to all of his loved ones. We pray that God puts his healing hands on our D and performs a miracle. If ever a spirit Deserved that , it would be him. His family needs him, we need him, his friends need him and the world needs him. He is a soul with light illuminating from within him. Dear God please bless this man for all of the love that he gives to others and all of the wisdom he passes on. Show him that kindness that he has always shown to all people.

Scott Smith here for a quick comment on D.  He was there for us in 1984 when our father died. and was the spine of our family for many years until we could sail on our own.  “D” was and is bigger then life.  I will quote e a line from the movie “Shawshank Redemption”  — “Some birds aren’t meant to be caged, their feathers are too bright”

Thank you all so much. Goodnight ❤️

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. ️Amen. Love from,

A Happy Birthday Note From My Sister Jessica Smith, Irish Twins

Birthday note from my sister Jessica Smith

Good evening friends.  A really nice message from my sister Jessica Smith.  11 months apart, Irish Twins.  This was on my personal wall, figured to share it with all our ELS friends too.

Message below;

Happy Birthday to a true survivor. You have shown yourself to have the same strength as Daddy. I thank God every day that I didn’t lose you. What you never knew was that I was praying over your body while you were in that coma. I was using all the love I had in my whole soul, and begging God not to take you.

I knew your life was just beginning. You have so much to be proud of. You make so many people happy with your love for this community. I’ve never seen someone work as hard as you in my life. I always knew you were an artist. I was just waiting for you to know it.

My only wish for you is happiness and love. It makes my heart so happy to see you so happy and so healthy. I love you more than I could ever explain. Happy 6th birthday, to my heart.

Jess

Big Move to Puerto Rico and Possible Radio Show

The move to Puerto Rico and The Radio Show

Good evening friends.

Thank you for stopping by.  It’s great to be here with everyone.   We hope you all had a nice Thursday.  If you didn’t, try not to personalize it, with a good sleep you’ll feel better tomorrow.

So I have some news I would like to share with everyone, its slightly premature to say this, but it’s somewhat in motion, so what the heck.  I am working diligently to figure out a way to bring Jessica, her kids and my mother to Puerto Rico in a house just 5 houses away from where Vanessa and I live right now.  I’m 75  percent sure this is going to happen or I would not say it.

Now I know that is Not Earth shattering news that changes anyone’s lives but I like to be open with our ELS family.

When they movie here, Jessica and I will be doing a morning radio show for about 30 minutes to an hour, Monday through Friday each morning starting around at 8 am.  The show will be called “Give Today a Chance”

It is going to be 5 dollars a month to join.  You know Sammy & Family has been working hard for the last 5 years for free and we will continue to do exactly what we’ve been doing for free, but the radio show will be a paid for service.

Now let me say this, if that is too expensive for anyone, you email me and I cut the price in half, no questions asked. Let me take that a step further, if you cannot afford anything, you email me and you get access for free.  The subscription model will based on the honor code system and we will take your word for it.  If you can afford it, please join, if you cant, email me and we will work it out.  This show is for all of us to join and benefit from.

Sincerely,

Scott Evan Smith

One year anniversary of Judy Olson’s Passing

One year Anniversary of Judy Olson's Passing

Good evening friends.

A year ago today we learned the world lost a living angel. Our dear friend and member of the ELS family, Judy Olson, passed away on April 29th, 2015.  Both me and Scott would like to say a few words about Judy tonight.

Scott will start;

I had spoken to Judy several times over the past few months, and right until the end she kept her sense of humor. She had a lot of guts going for chemotherapy every other Monday, and just took everything in stride. Judy had two dogs and Sammy & Family promised her they would end up in good hands. After speaking with the family today, we found out they already have.

Sammy & Family, and friends had a lot of great moments with Judy, she was as nice as they come. Anytime she and I spoke, I always had to promise her the two dogs would be OK. She was selfless like that, those dogs were everything to her. We send prayers to Judy’s sister, and her family, whom I believe lived right near her, and prayers to her family on the west coast. Let’s close with this, Judy Olsen made the world a better place, and she will always be remembered.

Amen. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Jessica’s words now; I would like to honor my dear friend Judy tonight as well;

Judy first caught my eye on the Sammy page because of the love and support she always showed to my brother and myself, Scott’s “boys” and my own children. She always had such an open and courageous spirit, and Scott is right in saying that she was able to find a way of laughing no matter what. I loved her very much and we became personal friends off of Sammy’s page.

We spent many nights talking until the wee hours of the morning, sharing experiences and stories about our lives, but more than anything, we laughed and laughed. Even on the day that she was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and given a prognosis of 3 months, or up to 6 months if she had chemo, even then she always focused on how blessed she was. Judy had a deep connection to God and used to say that she “wasn’t afraid to die, because she knew where she was going”. I know she is in that beautiful place right now, free of the pain and suffering she endured in silence during her illness, always feeling blessed and always a fighter.

Judy is another blessing that God brought me, and all of us through Sammy. She was my family for a short time on earth, and now we are family forever. She even spoke on the phone with my children and they took to her right away. Judy was coming to New York to spend time with my whole family in the coming months. I’m so sorry that wasn’t in Gods plan for her. I will miss her deeply, and wherever she is, I hope she knows how loved she was, and how thankful I am to her for being my friend.

It was always Judy’s dream to see NYC. Now that she lives amongst other angels, we want her to know that she always has a home wherever we are, and I will show her NYC in my heart.

Dear God, bless Judy. Dear God , lift her into the light in your arms. Judy gave love and joy to so so many. Her kindness and her compassion set her apart. She was a being of light and deserves to live forever amongst those with golden hearts.

Prayers for her sons and her whole family. Prayers for her four legged babies that she loved with all of her heart. May they be loved immeasurably in Judy’s name. I know she would want to thank them for being her best friends. They were always her only concern. God protect them.

Thank you Judy. I love you very much. Although our time together was short, you will always live in my heart. Your legacy lives on. I will never forget you my dear and deeply loved touchstone.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen,

Tonight We Pay Tribute to Peanut a Fallen Angel

Rest In Peace Peanut

Rest in peace Peanut

Goodnight dear friends. We hope that your day was a beautiful one.

Tonight we pay tribute to an angel, named Peanut. Our dear friend  Phyllis Black Wholihan has written to us and honored her baby very beautifully in the letter she sent us. Her sweet Peanut crossed the rainbow bridge just this past January.  Her heart is filled with love for her baby, and she misses her so deeply.

Here is some of what Phyllis wrote.

“Peanut was a mini schnauzer, and  an amazing friend and companion. She came into my family’s life in June of 2001, when my daughter Caitlin and I  rescued her from the pound, at the age of  4 or 5 years old, . My husband wasn’t sure about  a little dog, since he always had large dogs growing up,  but Peanut changed his mind when she jumped into his arms and kissed his face. From then on he was hooked!!!

She loved to go on walks and little trips with us , Peanut  was always at the family get togethers and loved people !!! When my mother-in -law was in a nursing home, we took Peanut . She became  great therapy for a lot of the older people there. She had her own board  on Pinterest; ” The Adventures of Peanut”,  where you could follow her on her walks and travels, with her and her friends !!! Her last post on Pinterest (with the pic of her silhouette standing on a rock with the clouds behind her) :  “I’m on my final adventure !!! This one I have to take by myself !!! My mom & dad are crying right now because they are so sad that I have to leave !!! But I am going to see my pals Max, Skip, Diesel, and Cooper !!! I can’t wait !!! We will run in the yards like we used to … Chasing squirrels and each other !!! I love and will miss my mom, dad, Caitlin , Sam, Brucey, & Grandma so much !!!! Thank you for the wonderful life you gave me !!! I LOVE YOU, Peanut.”

We lost a big piece of our hearts that day, January 14, 2015. In her memory we have adopted another little girl, a 6 year old schnauzer-doxie mix, who needs lots of love and understanding and she is getting all that and more. Her name is Gracie,  and she is learning to love and play like she should have when she was a little puppy.”

What a beautiful tribute Phyllis has written, directly from her heart. We send our love out to her, and to Peanut, who meant so much to so many. We know that Peanut is running happy and free, in a world more beautiful than any of us could ever even conceive of.  She missed her family very much,  but feels no pain, only joy. Until they all meet again, and are together forever.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Tonight The World say Goodbye to a fallen angel named Ruby

Tonight we say goodbye to Ruby

Tonight we say goodbye to Ruby

Good evening everyone.

It is with a very heavy heart that we share with you tonight, the passing of an angel. We have prayed for Ruby before, because she was suffering from Cancer, and we were all hoping that a miracle would come. It wouldnt be the first miracle for her. Her life was full of miracles.

We learned about Ruby from one of our dearest friends, Joan, who adored her to no end. Ruby was Joans best friend, Alicia’s dog. Ruby had a difficult time in her earlier years.  She was found by two workers who heard her whimpers from  inside of a closet,  in a home that was about to be torn down . She was abandoned in that closet,  with the door shut. There was broken glass everywhere. Thank God for those workers. They called the right people, and Ruby was taken to the local animal shelter where she was saved. Alicia’s daughter, Candace was there helping out, and immediately took to Ruby. She took her home to Alicia, and Alicia fell in love with her. It was a blessing for all of them. Ruby was a miracle from the start. She loved her brother Cash so much,  and she also loved cats. The Kitty you see with her in this photo, is the one she loved the most.

Ruby was a very gentle and very loving dog. She hardly ever even barked. She gave so much love to everyone, and touched all who knew her. She was surrounded by love when she crossed over the rainbow bridge into heaven. She will be deeply missed.

Joans fondest memory of Ruby, in her own words was “When we were at a State Park  We were sitting side by side with my arm around her, and I gave her a kiss on her forehead and then she turned and gave me a kiss on my cheek . I will never ,ever forget that moment….. Rest in peace,  my sweet, precious Ruby. I will  always love you. Run free and be happy until we meet again.

We send out prayers of healing and love to Alicia, Candace and Joan. We ask God to be with them through this very painful time. And we also send out prayers to Ruby. You were so loved, and that love will live on, until you all meet again, on the other side of this world. Now you are young again, and free of any pain. You will be missed dearly. You will be remembered always.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Prayers for Ruby

Prayers for Ruby

Goodnight everyone.

We have very special prayers going out tonight, requested by one of our dearest friends, Joan. Joan has asked for all of our prayers for her close friend Alicia and her baby, a pit bull mix, named Ruby. Ruby is suffering from lung cancer, and doctors don’t know how long she has left.

Alicia rescued Ruby when she was found abandoned in a house that was about to be demolished. Workers heard Ruby whimpering from inside the closet she was left in.  That’s when Alicia stepped in and saved her. But as all of us as animal lovers know, when you rescue and animal, you are rescued in return. There is just nothing like the unconditional love and devotion they offer us.

Since then Ruby has been lighting up Alicia’s life, and everyone that knows Ruby, loves her. Our friend Joan just adores her, and is hurting so much knowing that both Ruby and Alicia are suffering. Joan suffers with them, and describes Ruby as the sweetest girl ever.

We ask you to please pray with us tonight, for sweet Ruby, Alicia and Joan.  May God spare ruby any pain. May he lay his healing hands on her and send a miracle,  for the girl who touches the lives of all who know her.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.
