The Movie Rewrite for Million Dollar Baby

Welcome to the Movie Rewrite for “Million Dollar Baby”

Great movie, but very disturbing how it all unraveled, we are going to Rewrite that. What the movie forgets to mention is the actress that Hillary Swank played grew up on Martial Arts.  She had professional training going ten years back from one of best Martial Arts instructors in the world, Mr. Miyagi. After those ten years, the Hillary Actress was no longer a student; she too was a master of martial arts. The most important lesson she learned from her Karate Instructor was; Never Take your eye off your opponent, never.  As a matter of fact, Mr. Miyagi used to make her walk around with pictures of the people she would fight to ensure she never took her eyes off of them. He beat this principle to death, and she never forgot it.

During those ten years women boxing started to rise in popularity, and this peaked Hillary’s interest. Problem was she had no boxing experience what so ever. Being from a small town and all, there was only one dinky boxing gym around. Clint Eastwood ran the place. He immediately said to her “ I don’t train women “. But he did offer her job because she needed some work. After several months, Clint realized this young gal had a heart of a lion, like Rocky Balboa you might say. He didn’t see that with any of the men he trained, one you thing you need in boxing is heart. Because with heart and passion, you can even beat the ones that are better then you.

Clint finally gave in and trained her to box with skill and technique. Between that, her martial arts background, and her heart of a lion, Hillary was knocking people out left and right. She became an overnight legend in the female boxing world. Clint said “ I got you a shot at the title fight, this is your time now”  Hillary and Clint went into hardcore training now. He sets up a championship fight for her against the WBA women’s welterweight champion, Billie “The Blue Bear”, a German ex-prostitute who has a reputation as a dirty fighter. It was a million dollar fight. Money The Hillary Swank person could not possibly fathom.

Within a few rounds, the “ Hillary Swank “ person had complete control of the fight. It was clear she was going to win the Championship in just moments. Even Billie “ The Blue Bear “ saw her demise coming. When the rounded ended before the last one was about to begin, as they both returned to their corners, Hillary, as she had been doing the whole fight, walked backwards to her corner always remembering what Mr. Miyagi said, “ Never take your eyes off your opponent. Still, Billie “ The Blue Bear “ known for her dirty fighting, before the last round even started, came and attacked Hillary in her own corner to try to weaken her a little before the last round.

Hillary said to herself, The Blue Bear had a very tough life and boxing was all she had. So once the crowed pulled Billie off of Hillary, she had a moment of clarity and compassion. Hillary came to Billie’s side of the ring and said, “ I could never make it another round, you are the best fighter around, I surrender “. So “ Billie the Blue Bear “ remained the champ. People were in shock.

Clint offered Hillary a full time assistant job to him. Her job was to teach his men fighters to have that heart, that unexplainable heart that makes less of a fighter, beat a better fighter. Clint called it the “ Rudy Ruettiger Principal “. This principal was based off a student of Notre Dame who dream was to make the football team despite he was small and had no skills what so ever.  But Rudy had a heart of a giant. When he took to the field, he felt taller then anyone. He was pure heart. And that is what Clint felt about Hillary, she was pure heart. And while you can’t teach that, if people see it long enough, it just might rub off on them.

Going back to Billie “ The Blue Bear “ boxing championship, the ex German Prostitute was stunned by what Hillary did for her in that last round. The world never showed her any kindness or compassion before, that experience changed her forever.  She resigned from boxing and opened clinics all over the world for people who also felt unloved.  She let them know they have a place to come where people do care about them.

The end. The movie still would have been great.

The Movie Rewrite for “Gone With The Wind”

The Movie Rewrite for "Gone With The Wind"

Welcome to the Movie Rewrite for “Gone With The Wind”

If you step back for a moment from the epic nature of this movie, it really was about a horribly dysfunctional relationship that in modern times would have come to an end and both parties would have moved on.

MOVIE REWRITE —

So let’s start out with the Movie “Back to the Future” from 1985. Remember the Doctor that created time travel with his Delorean Car? — Well that Doctor was always obsessed with the Movie “Gone with the Wind” and was not happy how it ended.

He decided to time travel back to 1939 when the movie was made to find Rhett Butler just after his timeless quote, “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”. The Dr. offered Rhett an immediate way out of his turbulent life once and for all.

Rhett knew he needed a complete revamping of his life and figured he could use all the karma he can get. Being Rhett is a “Risk Taking” type of guy, he jumps into the car with the Doctor and they time travel back to the 1970’s.

The Doctor thought this would be a good place for Rhett to start because there was a big movement going on back then called “Erhard Seminars Training”, officially known as The “EST Standard” — They specialized in helping people see life from a clear perspective.

Rhett spent two weeks in the program. He learned about self actualization and development for happiness. He saw the world in a whole new light. He told the Doctor from “Back to the Future” that he would like to stay in the 1970’s and start a brand new life.

Rhett was such a big hit amongst the people in his new Era that the “Bee Gees” offered him a spot as their fourth singer. Rhett turned it down. He didn’t want anymore drama in his life and going on the road was just too much. He was looking to settle down with a nice gal that would love him in return. Months later, Rhett was introduced to a very sweet, up and comer from Australia, named Olivia Newton John.

It was love at first sight. They picked up and moved to Australia to do the whole “family and kids” thing. After several years in Australia, Olivia and Rhett took over a famous Zoo named after the late great Steve Irwin, also known as the “Crocodile Hunter” — That was just Steve’s nickname of course. Nobody was a better friend to all species than Steven Irwin.

The Zoo became a huge success and set the bar for animal kindness across the glob. Rhett looked over at his family, then the zoo and whispered to himself, “Not bad for a man who came all the way from The Civil War Era” — Rhett finally had the peace he was longing for since the day he left the South.

Now let rewind back to Scarlett O’hara when she says  at the end of the movie “Tomorrow is another day” — Scarlet turned out be very right. She learned some valuable lessons during those years.

1.  She needed to deal with her addiction to chaos.

2.  Her dad was wrong. Land means nothing if you don’t have a life to build on it.

3.  Don’t be in a marriage unless you are sure who you want to be married to.

4.  Don’t be in a serious relationship until you know who you are. As a result of these lessons, Scarlet learned to live more in the present and less in her head. Years later she married the Head Plantation worker on her land whom she always had a crush on.

I guess this is what Barry Manilow meant in 1978 when he sang,  ♫♫♫ Ready To Take a Chance Again ♫♫♫

The End. The Movie still would’ve been great.

The Movie Rewrite for “Pay It Forward”

The Movie Rewrite for "Pay It Forward"

The Movie Rewrite for “Pay It Forward”

Let’s start with a quick snapshot. Pay it forward is a great concept and would do a lot of good for this world. Imagine if each one of us woke up everyday and said to ourselves, “Self, let’s express 3 acts of random kindness to 3 people in need. What a wonderful world that would be. Now add on top of that, the 3 people you helped would go out there and help 3 random people also. Just visualize that for a moment; “positive acts growing exponentially through the veins of society.” I guess it’s true what they say, “People have the Power.” So that’s our take away message for this movie. Great message but certainly did not have to end that way.

The Rewrite begins now:

To start with, this is the same kid from the movie, “The Sixth Sense” from 1999. His famous line in the move was, “I see dead people.” So, he already has a tendency to think about death and we know that people attract what they think (Laws of Attraction). So, let’s change that. Being “Pay it Forward” was made in 2000, this kid had a full year to learn to think differently. Between therapy and hypnosis, he had visions of being a superhero for kids being bullied and random acts of kindness, where he thought people were deserving and worthy. Now, if you remember in “Pay it Forward,” the kid’s best friend was very asthmatic and got picked on a lot; not a happy life for his friend. Luckily for that friend, the “Sixth Sense” star went to see his best friend’s allergist to pay it forward. The allergist had such gratitude for his new outlook that he swore the next time that he saw his asthmatic friend he would help him. With that, the allergist gave the friend an inhalator that neutralized his asthma and released steroids into the body, causing a temporary strength to the level of the Hulk.

Now, let’s fast forward to the end of movie when the 3 bullies pick on his friend again. His friend starts panicking upon their arrival and takes a breath from his new inhalator. His asthma and his demeanor immediately change. He notices his new found strength and immediately repeats a quote from the 1993 movie, “A Bronx Tale” and says, “Now yous can’t leave.” The 3 bullies are in shock at how the tables have changed. But the Hulk-like figure shows mercy towards them and pays it forward to them. While this is going on, the “Sixth Sense” kid sees it from afar. When he noticed that his friend flipped the script on those 3 kids, he cruised home peacefully with no harm. As a result of the mercy shown, The 3 bullies became role models for “bullying bullies.” And the trickle down effect took place. There were less and less bullies everyday.

So in conclusion, we have a “win win” situation as described below.

We have exponential growth of positive “Pay it forwards” going on at all times, growing bigger and bigger.

And we have the “Bully the bullies” movement going on, until the growth rate of bullies was Zero.

The End….. The movie still would have been great.

The Movie Rewrite for “Point Break”

The Movie Rewrite for "Point Break"

Did you ever wish the movie “Point Break” ended differently ?

This one is for the late great Patrick Swayze, and the current great Little Patrick, which is the little head on the left.

Let’s take it right from the point where Keanu has Patrick Swayze handcuffed. Patrick was urging Keanu to set him free so that instead of being caged, he could catch that once in a life time wave and die with dignity. Keanu for a moment, recalled a Morgan Freeman movie where he said, “ Some birds aren’t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright “.

He realized then, that if ever a saying was relevant, it would be right here with Swayze, the man who lives, breathes and thrives in nature. So Keanu lets him go and Swayze starts walking towards the wave that would inevitably take his life. While walking towards his end, he gets hit with an epiphany that will turn this whole thing around for him. Swayze asks Keanu, please hear me out. Patrick says with passion, we all the know the term “ Surf and Turf”. As at matter a fact, Keanu said i just had that for dinner last night. Well Keanu, how about I create “ The Surf and Work Program “? So at least if you want to be a professional surfer, you will also have to learn a sense of responsibility. Kind of like the Co-op Program at Northeastern University. You go to school there for a year, and then you work for a semester, and so on and so on. This way when you graduate, you already have some work experience.

This was groundbreaking thinking that changed the face of surfing forever. This was finally a way for surfers to purse their true passion, and not have to create mischief to make a living.

Surfing was no longer about “ Dude, lets catch some waves “, It was now, ” Lets do some work, so we can surf later.” Patrick Swayzes surfing program (Surf & Work), became such a hit, that now Patrick has to teach thousands and thousands of newcomers, how to balance on a surfboard in the water.

One day a very famous Director named Emile Ardolino from Hollywood came to take surfing lessons. He was so impressed with the way Patrick Swayze moved his body to deal with all the waves, that he asked Patrick if he would be interested in trying out for a New Movie. Patrick said “100 percent yes”. So Patrick tried out for Emile Ardolino’s new movie “Dirty Dancing”. In an instant he got the part. He was a natural after all the bobbing and weaving over his years of being a surfer. Patrick accepted the offer as long as that the Producers would hire Kate Bosworth, from “Blue Crush” could be his dance partner in the new movie. The director agreed. Patrick officially turned a very negative start, into a full happy life. A major life lesson was learned here.

The End. Movie still would have been great.

The Movie Rewrite for “Cast Away”

Did you ever wish the Movie ” Cast Away ” ended differently ? This is a Quick and Must read;

Welcome to the Movie Rewrite of “ Cast Away “ This Rewrite is truly an Advanced Imagination exercise. It takes our brains and throws them on a treadmill.

Here we go. So we all remember Chuck (played by Tom Hanks ) was a high strung Federal Express employee when it came to work, almost obsessed if you will. During the Christmas Holidays, Chuck heads to Malaysia in the middle of a bad storm for a business problem. His family was very displeased needless to say. We all remember what happens next, the plane goes down in the middle of Pacific Ocean, and Chuck is the only one that survives thanks to an inflatable life-raft. From there he ends up on an island completely alone other than the “Volleyball “Wilson,“ his soon to be best friend.

Let’s relieve some of chuck’s pain right away. Now if we all remember Gilligan’s Island from 1964 and the crew that was lost at sea after a shipwreck. Being Chuck’s plane went down in 1995, that gave the Gilligan Crew 31 years to become experts on how to live off of uninhabited land. The shipwrecked crew from the 1960’s saw Chucks plane go down and witnessed the island he floated to in his life-raft. They approached Chuck who ended up on an island right next to them and invited him and Wilson to join them on their island.  Chuck happily accepted. So right here, that removes all those trials and tribulations and loneliness that Chuck had to endure. As months went by, they decide to kill some time learning to play volleyball with Wilson.

Despite the fact of being stranded in the middle of the ocean, the friendships became peachy keen. Now, if ever you were going to be stranded on an Island you would hope the year was 1995. As it happens, a gentleman by the name of Kevin Costner skillfully lived on the water itself in the movie Water-world. He also witnessed the plane going down and knew where to find people if any survived. So when Keven Costner and his big Water contraption approached the island, the Gilligan Crew and Chuck were ecstatic. The Water-man invited the whole crew on his Water Traveler and took them all back to shore.

For Chuck, only 6 months had passed, he didn’t expect much to have changed. But upon his arrival, he learns his wife ( Helen Hunt ) started a courtship with someone else. That someone else just so happened to be the “Mr. Big “ character from the cable show “Sex and the City” When she learned of her husband still being alive, she broke it off with “ Mr. Big “ immediately. As we all remember, Mr. Big always had a wondering eye and the Helen Hunt relationship was just one of his affairs. So Mr. Big heads back to NYC to reconcile things with his wife Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker

Now, back to Chuck ( the Tom Hanks character ), he and Helen Hunt were like peas and carrots once again.

After Chuck shared his 6 months of what is like on the island with Wilson and the Gilligan Crew, his wife said; “ All of you should start a Volleyball team and compete professionally. That hit Chuck like a ton of bricks, he knew it was his calling. So him and his wife called Maverick and Goose from the movie “Top Gun“ to train this new team all the fundamentals of volleyball. We all remember what experts they were playing volleyball on the beach and all in 1986.

Needless to say all the ducks were aligned for great success. The Wilson Volleyball team went on to win the National Championship and The Olympics. At one of the Award Ceremonies, Chuck ( The Tom Hanks Character ) gave a speech that left people mesmerized. The first highlight from the speech was a reference about his time on the island. His quote was; “ I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring “ referring to his time away from home on the island. The Second highlight was when he held the Wilson volleyball up and yelled out “ WIiiiiLSON.

The End….. The Movie Still would’ve been great.
