The weekend is what you want it to be, relax or rejoice, all is good

Jessica and Dr. Harp Seal

Goodnight Dear Friends and Family,

Happy Friday night to all. We hope your week ended well and that you have a wonderful night doing what makes you most happy.

After a long week of work, or dealing with getting children to school and doing homework etc, it’s nice to just kick back and not feel obligated to do anything other than enjoy yourself. That can mean staying in and just being with loved ones, enjoying some solitude while reading or watching a movie, or going out for the night. You make your own rules according to what makes you feel good. Rejuvenating is always a powerful thing for the mind and body.

No matter what your plans for this weekend, try and make it count by creating memories, and savoring all of the beauty around you. Beauty can be found anywhere, and even in the simplest of things. All that you have to do is keep your eyes and your heart open, and you will see it. It can be hard to unload the stress of a week and be in the moment, but experiencing the present is an extraordinary thing. Think of all of the joy we could have, simply by not bringing yesterday into today. Let’s do our best to be in the now.

We send out prayers tonight for those people and animals, that are suffering and don’t have the luxury of being free to experience today with joy. For those who are lost and broken, we pray that they be free from pain, and that they find the hope that they need so deeply. May God hear their cries and intervene on their behalf.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. ️Amen.

Love from,
Jessica Lee Smith,

Cruising into the weekend

Father & Son on Bike

Good morning friends.

Every single week I am astonished by the timeliness of Friday, he just pops up out of thin air. Like a magician or something.  Each week I ask myself do I have the right to say TGIF if I play Mr. Mom to our 5 dogs while Vanessa works every day ?

It poses an interesting question. I guess whether the answer is yes or no, I must admit I sure like the “Mr. Mom” thing.  Its very underrated.  Day 258 here in Puerto Rico.  Let me break my calculator out for all of those who could Not break the 1000 mark on the SAT’s.  At day 270, it will be 9 months, assuming each month is a 30 day month.

OK, lets kick this Friday off with three positive notions.

1. Memories are nice to have and reference from time to time. Memories don’t up make up a day. Living the day makes a day.  Then you can stockpile “today” in the Memory bank for future reference.

2. “The World is full of nice people, if you can’t find one, Be One.

3. Never mess with a 46 year old man sitting on a Play Bike with a 10 Pound Pomeranian in the middle of a mall with tattoos, lol.

TGIF everyone.  See you tonight.  Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

To Love and be Loved

To Love and be Loved

Goodnight Dear Friends and Family.

This is Jessica writing to you tonight. The weekend is right around the corner. We hope that everyone has arrived home safely tonight and that you’re all resting and well.

Its amazing how you can be in the midst of so much turmoil in your life, and miracles and special people seem to show up , even within all of the darkness. These people can somehow feel like Gods messengers. Sometimes you just know that a power greater than you is sending you a lifeline, some sign of hope. A message that you are in fact, not alone, although you may feel that way.

Even here on our Everybody Loves Sammy page, my family and I have been so blessed with special friendships and love. I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to us. It’s just a reminder that when you give out love to others, life sends love right back to you, and we are ever so grateful for that.

The most important thing we can do of all, is absolutely never quit, under any circumstances at all. No matter what comes our way in life, we must make it through to the end and never stop fighting. This is each of our own personal journeys, and each step in this journey is very important to our souls growth. Even the hurtful times have taught us something, although we would have rather have not had those times at all.

What is life really about , if not to love and be loved? What will be our legacy? It is Not the things that we have, but how we have touched the lives of others , how we have loved the most important people in our lives, and how we have been loving and gentle to all living things. This is all we can strive for and hope to attain, and each day is a journey toward that.

Just know that your life means more than you even realize. How you live will leave ripple effects long after you have gone from this world. Your legacy does and will mean something, if you live and love with all of your heart.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Goodnight everybody. Sweet dreams to all.  Jessica Smith for Sammy & Family.

The Pops feels free as a bird

When Pops smiles, we smile

Good morning friends.

The Pops came by to sport his new haircut.  He feels free as a bird.  Now is that a beautiful smile or what ?  — We hope this gives everyone a little boost this morning and a big smile.

OK, lets kick this Thursday off with two Positive Notions;

1. Some very smart people told me to keep doing the next right thing and things will get better. Think about that.  Try to do the next right thing.  Nevermind what other people are doing, we need to do the next right thing, that’s all we can do.

2. Everyday is a great day to rescue an animal and give them a great life. It always feels like its not the right time, but for them it always is and feels like the right time.  The good news is the rescued pet will start paying you happiness dividends instantaneously.  It feels great to make an animal happy. Might be one of the most wholesome feelings in the world.

3. If you are seated next to baby on the plane, don’t be shy to aks the stewardess if you can move your seat.  Because trust me, that’s baby’s goal is wreck your life until that flight is over.  Sorry, I had to go with that one this morning.

Have a great day.  Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy &  Family.

The Soldier of Love comes to say goodnight

The Soldier of Love Came to say goodnight

Good evening friends.  Henry, “The Soldier of Love” wanted to come say goodnight.

We hope everyone had a nice day today.  The good news if you did not is that its over.  A big night sleep has a miraculous way of resetting our state of mind.  If you had a good day today, hit the old replay button tomorrow, we don’t always have to keep reaching.  Its nice to sit still in the good times and take it all in.

Jessica was going to take over tonight but we had other things come up.  Sometimes life get so busy you just have to stay the course until it simmers down.  So again, it is our intention for her to handle our night posts on Monday through Friday.  But sometimes intentions and scheduling are not aligned.

OK, lets close tonight with two Positive Notions

  1. I did my best and my best is always good enough. If that’s not respect by someone, its their problem, not yours.
  2. This land is their land, this land is out land, this land is made for us and them.

Signing off from Puerto Rico, Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family on day 256.

In the name of “D” we pray

Prayers for D, he's fighting for his life and makes the world a better place

Goodnight dear friends and loved ones, this is Jessica.

We hope that you enjoyed your day. Many times even the smallest acts of kindness and scattered moments here and there can mean so much. They can change the course of our whole day.  We pray that everyone has arrived home safely and is relaxing.

We’d like to ask all of our friends out there to Pray for our very dear family friend , who we will call “D” — D is in the hospital at this time and He is facing the biggest fight of his life. We want him to know that he will not face it alone. We met our friend D almost 30 years ago and we simply adore him. He has been an incredible force of positivity and love for our whole family. He is more than a friend to us, he is a member of our family. We hurt when he hurts. But the one thing we know whole heartedly is that this man is a living superhero. He brightens up the lives of everyone he meets and everyone that crosses his path. He has given others hope for all of his life. He has helped people recover from sickness and serious injuries. He has restored the spirits of the broken. He is a very spiritual man and is unconditionally kind to everyone.  He has been there for my family through thick and thin. No one has a heart like his. We love him more than anything.

Please come together in prayer for our loved one. We know that he can pull through this. He is a champion and a fighter like no other, but we need your prayers. We pray that He is fully healed and fully cured. We pray that he has not a day of pain or fear. We pray that he returns home again to all of his loved ones. We pray that God puts his healing hands on our D and performs a miracle. If ever a spirit Deserved that , it would be him. His family needs him, we need him, his friends need him and the world needs him. He is a soul with light illuminating from within him. Dear God please bless this man for all of the love that he gives to others and all of the wisdom he passes on. Show him that kindness that he has always shown to all people.

Scott Smith here for a quick comment on D.  He was there for us in 1984 when our father died. and was the spine of our family for many years until we could sail on our own.  “D” was and is bigger then life.  I will quote e a line from the movie “Shawshank Redemption”  — “Some birds aren’t meant to be caged, their feathers are too bright”

Thank you all so much. Goodnight ❤️

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. ️Amen. Love from,

Happy Poppy Tuesday on September 22nd, 2015

Poppy Tuesday September 22nd
Happy Poppy Tuesday friends.

A day filled with Hope and Possibilities. If the Pops can do it, anyone of us can too. Sammy & Family and The Smith Family would like to thank David Ligon again for sharing his wisdom with us.

If any of our friends would like to share a story with us, or needs to get a message out, feel free to email me, smith7024@yahoo.com. ELS if a flagship for “Together we stand, divided we fall” — Nobody needs to feel alone no matter where you are in the world or what you are going through.

You would not believe how many people I spoken with in unimaginable situations. People who have no family or are politically oppressed countries and etc. The point being just connecting with some of these people has offered them hope to hang on until tomorrow and look for a better day.

OK, lets kick this Poppy Tuesday off with three positive notions.

1. Just because it was like that, and still remains like that, does Not mean it has to stay that way. Today is a new day, what will you do different today that produces a different result ?

2. In the name of Poppy, anything is possible. Let the story of Poppy be the wind beneath your wings. Because i have news for you friends, nobody stays down forever but you do have to look up.

3. The old Chinese Proverb is if you fall down 7 times, you get up 8 times. The Smith Family is going to take that one step further. Even when we are gone, we’re getting up if that’s possible.

Have a great day friends. Jessica will be checking in with y’all tonight.

International Day of Peace by David Shane Ligon

International Peace Day; written by David Shane Ligon

Good evening everyone. Tonight David Shane Ligon talks about International Day of Peace.  From David below;

“Tonight I want to talk about a topic that’s easily misunderstood. And that topic happens to be Peace. 11 days ago, I discussed about my hospitalization following my almost-successful suicide attempt. When I was transferred from Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital to Natividad Medical Center, I had to be psychologically evaluated by a therapist/specialist. I had to wait a couple of hours, as there were other people ahead of me who were being evaluated, as well.

During those couple of hours, God helped me realize that there were other people all over the world who experienced what I experienced. They try to do good for themselves and others, end up getting bullied and feeling alone, and attempt to end their lives. I had already regretted about almost ending my life, but it was during that waiting period that made me see that all sorts of other people have and are going through what I’ve been through.

It should not matter if a person is Caucasian, African, Asian, Semite (of Jewish and/or Arab descent), Hispanic, Indigenous, Multiracial, Straight, LGBTQ, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, Agnostic, Baha’i, Hindu, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, Samaritan, Rastafari, Jain, Sikh, Confucianist, Shinto, Universalist, a hybrid of any of the aforementioned beliefs, Libertarian, Independent, Democrat, Republican, Green, Man, Woman, Child, Teenager, Veterans of the Armed Forces, Upper-Class, Middle-Class, Lower-Class, etc. To me, this has to do with Peace, because Peace is not exclusive. Peace is not at all about bigotry, hatred, discrimination, and resentment.

Peace has to involve Forgiveness and Acceptance of others, even if they differ us in race, gender, sexual orientation, and spiritual/humanistic/political beliefs. Peace is reaching out to someone, especially when they are feeling very down, even though we do not know who they are. I also believe that Peace is not limited to human beings. A human reaching out to an animal who feels hopelessness can change an animal’s outlook on life for the better.

If the world accepted Peace, it would be much like the community in “Everybody Loves Sammy.” Everyone would be united, no matter what their differences are, and help each other out the best that they can.

Enclosed with this post is my profile picture. I’ve seen bumper stickers with this picture. It’s a marking of the word “COEXIST” with the letters being represented by different belief systems spelling out the same word together. The rainbow-shaded colors represent the peaceful coexistence between the straight and LGBTQ communities. It’s a very touching and amazing picture, and it’s one of my favorite pictures/illustrations of all-time (not at all because it’s my profile picture).

A person’s actions and intentions should only matter, not for who they are. It’s a hard concept to get around, because we are all human beings, but I know that it would make us stronger if we actually try and live by it.

In the end, Peace will make us stronger and better people. Happy International Day of Peace, everyone. Take care.

Signing off from California,

David Shane Ligon
