David Bowie; Rest in Peace

Rest in Peace David Bowie

Good evening friends.

Tonight we pay tribute to David Bowie who passed away 3 days ago on January 10th, 2016. What a magnificent human being this man was. He was a larger than life Icon with a heart of gold.

David Bowie created the “Be Yourself” campaign decades before it was a mainstream mantra. He was a pioneer of music, theater, fashion and most of all, he was a major animal advocate.  Since the 1970’s he has been a substantial voice fighting against whaling going on all over the world and the dolphin hunts taking place in Japan.  Mr. Bowie loved all animals but was fascinated by dolphins.

We all have heard of the documentary movie”The Cove” that came out in 2009 about the shameless Dolphin Hunts in Taji Jpain. Mr. Bowie allowed the movie producers to use his 1977 song “Hero” for the soundtrack at just the publishers cost. Normally Bowie could receive hundreds of thousands of dollars to license his songs out. He always put compassion first.

David Bowie rocked this world for over 40 years from every which way and on Sunday. He was one of the most interesting, elegant and eccentric people in the world. Bowie paved the way for artists of all kind and made the world a better place.

As I am writing this tribute and thinking about him, there really was nobody like him. He walked, sang and danced to his own drum. Bowie lived off the beat and path and the world followed. He was a true free-bird. Obviously chronicles can be written of man that lived such a full life.  We hope we did him a little bit of justice tonight for all he contributed to this world.

Fly high Mr. Bowie. You were angel walking amongst us, and now you’re an angel looking over us. We send our condolences to his widow Iman and his entire family.  Rest in Peace David Bowie.

No lives will go in vain. No Pain will go unnoticed. Amen. Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.
