Tonight we pray and pull for Figgy

Tonight we pray and pull for Figgy

Goodnight, dear friends and family. This is Jessica writing to you tonight.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the color of the trees and leaves are absolutely gorgeous, and the holidays are in the air and everywhere you look. I cannot tell you enough how much this is my favorite time of year. This is the heart of everything. Everyone seems to be warmer and smiling much more all around. And of course you can see the excitement on the children’s faces.  So many beautiful experiences ahead.

This beautiful boy in the photo above is named Figgy. Figgy is the “warrior-dog” of our friend Veronica Wolski’s good friend, Sharon Tendler Vitullo. From what Veronica tells us, this boy is extraordinarily brave. Figgy needs our prayers right now, because he is dealing with many medical issues. His liver and kidneys have now been effected, and the situation has become very serious. We ask that you join us in strong Prayers for Figgys healing. Let us come together and send out so much positive energy and positive thoughts for this very special fighter. We pray that Figgy is healed and feels no pain at all at any time. We pray that he is restored to his optimal health and suffers no more. We send so Much love out to Figgy, and to Sharon and Veronica too. God bless them.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Welcome to the Piano Pops Lounge

Piano Pops Lounge

Good morning friends.

Happy Poppy Tuesday.  A day filled with Hope and Possibilities.  Welcome to the “Piano Pops Lounge” — Pops has been taking up piano and I must say, he’s really coming along.  He will be playing at Piano Pops Lounge every Tuesday if you would like to take a gander.

Tomorrow we pick up Rocky from the vet again.  He needed to be neutered. That might have been too much information.  But the point is he will be with us for Thanksgiving and on the mend.

Rocky is a perfect depiction of what “Poppy Tuesday’s” are all about.  If the Pops and Rocky can do it, anyone can.

OK, lets kick this day off with two positive notions;

1. “The path to a better world flows through the Humane Treatment of all animals”  — #DrHarpSeal —

2. Today could be a great day. Let’s give it a chance.

Thanksgiving week and Family time

Thanksgiving week of family

Good evening dear friends & family. This is Jessica writing to you tonight. It’s really cold out there, so please try and keep your pets inside as much as you can. Make sure that they stay warm and comfortable.

With Thanksgiving coming up on Thursday , many people are traveling and out shopping, preparing for that special day with family and friends. It’s always good to get things in order early, although it seems to always be a last minute thing for me during these days. I’m
Sure some of you can relate.

It really is just such a beautiful time of year. A lot of families don’t get together as much as they could, because life Keeps you so busy and location can keep you too far apart. So when everyone starts coming together again, after a while of not seeing each other, it’s always extra special. It’s also something to be grateful for to still have those important people in your life. As all of us know, sometimes a year changes everything , and maybe there’s an empty chair at your table this year that used to be filled by a loved one. We will be missing Dennis this year, as well as our dear friend Michael.

Have a peaceful night everyone. It’s really a half a week that we are in , so let’s take it easy. To all of you,  we wish the sweetest of dreams. We send love out to all.

Goodnight everyone.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.

Rocky or Butkus ?

Rocky or Butkus

Good evening friends.

Day 318 here in Puerto Rico.  Time is cruising right along.  They say times flies when you’re having fun. Does that mean when you are watching the seconds go by on a clock that you’re having a bad time ?  I was always perplexed by that.

So friends, I have some confusion in my head and was hoping we can all work out together.  I have a question about our new dog.  Before we peruse that question, if you could all be so kind to not be distracted by my bedroom eyes. Its really been a gift and a curse in my life all at the same time. Because of this gift / curse, many times the summons and substance of what I’m trying to say gets diluted by the allure of my eyes.  So please just concentrate on the question below.  Thank you so much.

OK, back to the Rocky story of our 6th dog. We all know Stallone put the “L” in legend through the Rocky character he played.  He struck a chord with the world playing the underdog that was all heart. That is how we came up with the name “Rocky” for this street dog we met the other day.

Just stay with me a second, shouldn’t his name really be Butkus, which was Rocky’s dog in the movie ?

Magic will lead out us out tonight

Magic will lead us out tonight.

Goodnight dear friends and family. This is Jessica writing to you tonight. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

This cutie in the picture is ” Magic”. She is a beautiful 5 year old Silkypoo. A silky is a large Yorkie with silver Yorkie hair. Magic is the fur baby of our dear friends, Cindy Vale and her daughter Samantha. They also have two cats and a Guinea pig. Cindy and Sammi are two of the sweetest people we know,  and we are so happy to call them our friends. They love their baby Magic so much, and who wouldn’t . She came to say goodnight to everyone tonight. Thank you Magic.

The kids and I had a beautiful day out last week that I wanted to mention it earlier. So many things have been happening in the world, that it wasn’t the appropriate time. We had gone to a park deep into the town that’s on the water. I love it there So much, and it was great to just see the kids running free and laughing. It’s a big difference from the one bedroom apartment that we live in with my Mother. So it’s 6 of us in a very very small enclosed space. We’ve been to other parks but they are always soooo busy,  and it can be difficult to try and keep track of my 3 youngest children all running in different directions. I like to think of myself as an octopus. Haha.

I  didn’t have the card we needed to get into this park until just the other day. I could never get all the kids to agree to show up to have their picture taken on the same day. Haha. I have many memories from this beautiful park and from one July fourth evening , when my daughter Alexandra was just a toddler. We laid on the grass together looking up at the sky, while the fire crackers rained on us. It was one of those priceless moments, just myself and my girl. Now years later, I was able to go back to that beautiful park with all of my children. We made new and beautiful memories to cherish forever.

I hope all of you made some new memories this weekend. There are many to be made in the next weeks ahead also. Cherish them.

Two Pals hanging out

Good morning friends.

It’s great to be here with everyone on November 22nd, 2015.  Rocky and I came to say good morning and wish everyone a fabulous Sunday Funday.

Sunday’s morning are our favorite day of the week.  It’s the one day where we let imagination in the door and back into our lives.  On Sunday’s we get to be us again, the people we set out to be from the very beginning.

See you tonight friends, day 317 here in Puerto Rico.  If my memory serves me correctly, I believe next week is Thanksgiving.  Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Small Dog Big Dreams

Small Dog Big Dreams

Good morning friends.

Its great to be here with everyone on November 21st, 2015.  Sometimes we need to take a look from above and see where we are in the forest.  Funny enough, in this particular forest there was a Petsmart.

Outside of the store were  little play rides for kids.  So we put the little guy on top one of the rides and he had a blast.  You can’t see it from this picture, but there were like 15 people snapping pictures of this little scene.  Sammy was cool as a cucumber.  He loves to be out and about.

It’s the little things in life. This was an inconsequential visit to the mall and yet he made many many people smile.

See you tonight friends.  Day 316 in Puerto Rico here.  NYC is still the greatest city in the world, lol.

A Miracle we named Rocky

A miracle named Rocky

Good evening friends.

Its great to be here with everyone.  Thank you for stopping by.  So the rescue yesterday was named today. Raquel came up with a brilliant name.  I was hoping for “Miracle”  — But this might be better.  Raquel decided to name this miraculous dog; “Rocky”

I cant believe I didn’t think of that being Rocky Balboa is probably the greatest character the movies ever created.  Better yet, the Rocky Character was based on Sylvester Stallone’s real life. Not in the boxing sense, but in the “Underdog” sense.

And who was more of an Underdog then this dog we rescued yesterday ? And when you think of the word “Underdog” — You might as well be thinking about Rocky.  So that is how Raquel came up with the name Rocky.

Rocky spent the night at the Vets last night.  He needed a medicine bath, ticks removed and his ears cleaned.  When i picked him up today and was playing with him at the Vets, he was so playful and has a huge happy smile. Rocky is a very special dog, extremely special. We can’t wait to show you his larger than life smile. Despite everything that caused him to be on the street, Rocky is innately a happy and loving boy.  Now that happiness can flourish, grow and inevitably make plenty of people happy through his life.

Happy Friday from Henry & Family

Hantastic Friday

Good morning friends.

What a Hantastic Friday this is on November 20th, 2015.  By the way, “Hantastic” is not a typo.  Its derived from; Henry + Fantastic = Hantastic.

Well today we get two gifts for the price of one.  Firstly, we’re alive.  Secondly its Friday.  I mean right there this sets up for a great day.

Let’s kick this day off with two Positive notions;

1. We live in the “We” world, not the “Me” world.

2. Just because I was that way, does Not mean I have to stay that way. Each day we get a new chance to be the best version of ourselves.

A Miracle Defined

A Miracle Defined

Goodnight Dear friends and family. This is Jessica writing to you tonight. We have a wonderful story tonight about an actual “Miracle” that took place.

My brother Scott went to walk his dogs in a local park today in Puerto Rico, as he always does. The dogs were all running and playing together and Scott was throwing the ball and running with them. There are so many stray dogs in the area and many times they pass Scott and his dogs at the park. But this day was very different. A beautiful dog approached. A very thin dog that obviously lived on the streets there. He had beautiful soft greenish eyes and a very loving face. He was very friendly , and unlike the other strays, he did not just pass Scott by. He went right up to them and started playing with them all. This dog showed no fear and really enjoyed playing with Scott and the family dogs. No matter where they walked in the park, this dog would follow, as if he was a part of the family. He followed my brother and the dogs around the whole time and wouldn’t leave Their side.

Scott was watching this approximately one year old little pit bull mix, and saw how much he wanted to be with them. He knew right then and there that he would not be leaving this dog at this park, and that this dog would now be coming home with them , to be a permanent member of the family. Other people in the park told Scott just to walk away and that this dog was “just another stray”. “Not anymore”, Scott said. ” I’m not leaving without him. From there Scott called me and Vanessa and Raquel right away and told us. He had absolutely fallen in love.

They took the dog over to the vet for the vet to remove any possible tics or flees, and to make sure that the dog was OK and didn’t need anything. The dog has not been named yet and is spending one night at the vets office , until he comes home with the family tomorrow.

One thing is for sure. This was all meant to be. This dogs life will never be the same. He will never be hungry again, or be wandering the streets on his own. He will from this day forward,  be another very loved member of our whole family. A miracle for him and a miracle for our family. It was love at first site on both sides.  As my brother always says; “Nobody can change everything, but everyone can change something”  — And today, this one year old stray dog was part of a divine miracle. The odds were zero on this happening, but it did.  Now we have 6 dogs.  We have not named him yet because Raquel is thinking of keeping him. If she does Not, Sammy & Family will take him and name him; “Miracle”

There are millions of dogs looking to light up your life and dying for that chance. If you ever wanted to create a miracle, bring an innocent angel into your home and watch the world change around you.

There is a reason the slogan; “Dogs are Man’s best friend” has been around for thousands or years.  A miracle is defined by taking a slogan and actualizing it into our lives right here, right now.

Goodnight everyone. Have the sweetest dreams.

No lives will go in vain. No pain will go unnoticed. Amen.
