Palm Sunday evening in 2016.

Palm Sunday evening, 2016

Good evening friends.

Thank you for stopping by.  We hope everyone enjoyed Palm Sunday today.  Palm Sunday is the final day of lent and falls on the Sunday before Easter. I believe this kicks off the Holy Week.

Let me take a moment to bring things back from the perspective of Animals. I have seen some videos of late where baby chickens are thrown in buckets, and then colored dye is poured all over them. That is animal abuse, plain and simple.

Nobody should partake in this activity.  Colored candy is one thing, but for Christ Sake (pun intended), this is a total disregard for innocent life.

OK, thank you for hearing me out on that. Day 433 here in Puerto Rico. It was 99 degrees today. If you parked your car and had to walk only 15 feet to a store, you got very tan. I never thought I would want an umbrella for the sun, but I sure envied those people today. Oh, and speaking of umbrellas in the sun, let me apologize to all those people I used to make under my breath comments about using umbrellas in the sun.  Look who is the horses batoot now, lol.

We will see you tomorrow morning friends. Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Tip for the Sunday Night Blues

March 6th, 2016. Time Marches on

Good evening friends.

We hope everyone had a nice weekend. Thank you life for today on March 6th, 2016.

Here’s good tip for the Sunday Night Blues. Nobody can control what Monday will throw at us. And knowing that frees us to accept whatever comes.

We’re are not supposed to know what tomorrow will be like, it hasn’t happened. I have trained myself to “Stay in the Day,” which has substantially increased the quality of my life.  I travel a with much lighter skip in my step knowing I can’t control anything but myself.

OK, now that we are feeling a little calmer from the Sunday Night Blues, lets kick the evening off with two positive notions

1. “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”  — Dr. Seuss —

2. “My life is Not comprised of memories, it’s comprised of living it. I will create New memories to speak of”   — Dr. Harp Seal —

Thank you life for Today on March 4th, 2016

Thank you life for today on March 4th, 2016

Good evening friends.

Welcome to the weekend. Thank you life for allowing me to participate on March 4th, 2016.  It didn’t have to be this way, thank God that it is. I am interested in only one asset in this life, simply to wake up tomorrow. All the rest is minutia.

The fruits of the Earth are plentiful enough for all animals and people to live with abundance. Whether that principal is ever respected or not, is up to the people. I personally know that as a mathematical fact. I feel blessed to be alive these days. When I see all the animals who are not privileged with the freedoms people are, for me life just cannot be as sweet. This is not about politics or laws, this is about acknowledging that animals are angels walking amongst us.  The fact that most people don’t see that does Not negate that its the truth. All it is does is confirm how selfish and stupid some people can be.

Thank you God for not putting me down for the count in September of 2013. I am here to make life better for animals with the remainder of my time here. And that starts with changing how Non Animal Lovers think about Animals.

I don’t know what it is about Barry Manilow’s song; “Weekend in New England,” but every time I hear that song, I feel like I can change the world.  Thank you Barry. By the way, Barry was my father’s name, and they both are from Brooklyn.

Patrick holds his head with Gratitude

Patrick holds his head with Gratitude

Good evening friends.

Little Patrick came to say goodnight to everyone. He holds his head with a great deal of gratitude tonight. He remembers what it felt like to be unwanted and unloved. Patrick is humbled knowing that is still the reality for millions of animals around the world.

I love this boy to death. We have developed an unbreakable and unshakable bond. He knows how loved he is. Seeing him happy and feeling secure, makes me happy.

Sammy & Family prays for all animals around the world and their plight. Life can be sweet, it would be so much sweeter if animals can enjoy the freedom that people do.

This land is made for them and us. No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed.

Amen. Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Prayers for Becky Flynn and Family

Prayers for Becky Flynn and Family

Good evening friends.

Tonight we say prayers for Becky Flinn and Family. Becky’s sister, Liz passed away about 4:30 pm this late afternoon. Liz had brain and lung cancer. Becky and i have connected several times the last couple of weeks. Liz was just diagnosed with cancer three weeks ago, unfortunately the cancer was is in its advanced stages already. Becky and I spoke about how this was more than likely the end.  The thing about losing loved ones, knowing or not, it still just pulls the rug right from under you.  Its a shocking experience no matter how much in the know we are. When they actually pass, it just seems surreal.

This is the same day Becky’s mom passed away from throat cancer 16 years ago today. She is in such despair right now.  Becky also lost her son at birth many years back.  If this is not an example of a person being tested, I don’t know what is.  She mentioned to me that her brother will probably be coming to get her tomorrow so they can all be together.

This is an important notion to remember when we lose loved ones. All that life that we lived and shared with our fallen loved ones is forever. Nobody can take that away from any of us. That’s what memories are made up of, and what memories are for. The fact that they are now gone does Not mitigate the lives we shared with them.

Sammy & Family and our friends from around the world have Becky and Family in our thoughts and prayers. Becky you’re not alone, we are all by your side right now. Thousands of people that will be reading this prayer tonight will be thinking of you. Those thoughts can move mountains. Hang in there. Its one foot in front of other until you feel OK.  During this mourning perios, time will ease your pain. Please stay closely connected during these next couple of days and weeks.

Life works in mysterious ways. I just put up a post today that we need to do more collective praying. I posted that because many people I know passed away this last year. Also friends of friends have passed, and i know several terminally ill people right now.

Sammy & Family’s evening Posts are on call for any prayers that are needed 7 nights a week. All other posts can always be posted on another night. Prayers come first. Whether its for animals, people or ourselves, all pray requests are welcome.  Please don’t be shy. Our collective prayers can make a difference.  My email is; smith7024@yahoo.com.

I will close with this; I want to thank all the loved one’s that I personally lost this past year for gracing me with their time while they were alive. What a privilege that was. What a gift they gave to me. I hope all of you can extrapolate what I just said into your own lives.

No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed. Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Day 377 here in Puerto Rico

Sammy on January 22nd, 2016

Good evening friends.

Thank you for stopping by. Its always appreciated. Day 377 here in Puerto Rico. Now is that a number or what ?  Today is day 65 since we rescued Rocky off the streets on November 19th, 2015.  That’s an even better number.

We hope everyone had a nice week. Its nice to throw the hat and coat on the rack until Monday. So we hear there is a big storm coming to the Northeast.  Hopefully the media is blowing it out proportion like they love to do. Nonetheless it always makes sense to play it safe. The media loves drama even if wrecks people’s lives sometimes. Pretty pathetic actually. Anyway that is there business.

Our business is to deescalate negativity and escalate positive progress. If there is no progress, then we just need some patience. What we don’t do is walk backwards and into the storm again.

So its Friday night, and the freedom in the air is beautiful.  We have no boundaries on the weekends. What shall we do, or not do if one desires.  No boundaries in a constructive way I mean of course.  No boundaries does not mean blacking out for 3 days and nights and waking up in strange places. So take that “freedom” point I made with a grain of salt.

OK, lets kick this weekend off with two positive Notions.

1. If I can’t control what people think about me, why would it let it bother me. That’s like voluntarily sending ourselves to prison.  What any of us do that ? No, we would not.

2. If your week did Not go that well, try Not to ruminate on it. If you do your getting kicked in the butt twice, wasn’t once enough ?  Its over, try to let it go. With a good night sleep you’ll feel refreshed by tomorrow morning.

The Planet and Animals

Animals and the Planet

Good evening friends.

Thank you for stopping by. Its nice to have so many animal lovers get together each night. Much of the world sees animals like a couch or a piece of furniture in their house. Its mind boggling. Sometimes I think I live amongst aliens.

Please allow me to quote one of the most brilliant people that ever lived on this planet. He had a joke with respect to people’s arrogance.  His name was George Carlin.  When people had the hubris to sit around and talk about how we have to handle the needs of the Planet better.  He used to say; “The Planet has been around for billions years and is going to be just fine. The plant has seen specie after specie become extinct. The Planet is Not going anywhere, We Are”, lol. Brilliant.

Its kind of like walking around a Crystal Meth clinic and asking the recovering addicts if they would like some free Crystal Meth tonight and thinking none of them will take it.  Next thing you know you’ve made the full rounds and you’re out of inventory with tons of Pre Orders.

Where am I going with this ? For all the people out there who were taught that animals are less than us, you’ve been taught wrong. The only thing it means that we are smarter than animals, is that we are smarter than animals. It means Absolutely Nothing else.

If the world is treating you cold and unkind, don’t take it out on animals. They actually have received the same treatment you have since the beginning of time. Animals actually understand your pain.

Dr. Harp Seal here. None of our Vanities are important enough to make an animal suffer for our glamour. If you don’t like the way you look, go see a shrink, or get a face-lift. Don’t have an animal tormented so you can wear a Fur coat and be talked about at a party.

The God that Sammy & Believes in does Not condone abusing animals for any reason whatsoever. Not for Vanity, Not for Entertainment, Not even to improve people’s lives.  Experiment with humans, leave the animals alone.  Enough is Enough.

No lives will go in Vain, no Pain will go unnoticed. Dr. Harp Seal and Scott Smith for Sammy & Family.

Lafonda and Mimi

Lafonda and Mimi Good evening friends.

We have another miraculous story tonight. Say hello to Mimi. She comes to us from our great friend LaFonda and Family.

In 2010 LaFonda rescued Mimi at 7 years old from a home where large dogs were abusing her.  Mimi speaks of her years when she was was not read to take on a rescue. When the time was right she let her higher power show her the way. And that way lead her to Mimi.

Her registered name is “Minis Red Dress” — LaFonda tries to keep her at 4 pounds but Mimi can be a very picky eater. LaFonda speaks about how Mimi is a blessing to everyone she meets. We can all relate to that.

Sammy & Family wants to thank LaFonda for making the world a better place, one rescue at a time.

No lives will go in vain, no pain will go unnoticed. Dr. Harp Seal for Sammy & Family.

Checking in with the Team

Hi friends. You can listen to the audio message just below, or the read the text below the audio.

Good evening friends.

Scott Smith here. Thank you for stopping by. I just wanted to personally check in with the ELS team tonight as we are approaching in on one year. Day 363 here in Puerto Rico. Counting the days helps me stay in the day. I hope everyone got something out of the counting in all of your lives as well.

As I have been mentioning, Sammy & Family is extremely excited about 2016. A lot of dreams, plans and action are on the menu. All kidding aside I have gotten my Mojo back like I had when I was 25. The only difference now, I am actually more immature.  What can I say, I’m a Toy R’ Us kid, I don’t want to grow up.

So welcome to the weekend everybody. Lets kick this night off with two positive notions.

1. Like any year, 2016 will have its trials and tribulations. That’s a given. Also a given is that we will ride the good times and get through the tough times. So bring it on.

2. I want to give a giant salute to Social Media for bridging all of us together. We love being surrounded by animal lovers from around the world. We may speak different languages, or come from other cultures, but the one common denominator is our love for animals.

Goodnight everyone. We will see you in the morning.

Teddy to the Rescue

Teddy to the Rescue

Good evening friends.

We have a special Post tonight called; “Teddy to the Rescue” — Our friend Danielle Riley adopted Teddy from Animal Control on New Year’s Eve.  He had been a stray dog and was found in a Walmart Parking lot. This local Animal Control is a kill shelter but at a much lower rate than most.

Teddy is about 3 years old. He was very matted and still has some more work to be done with the groomer. Teddy was pretty shy when Danielle met him which usually is not appealing to adopters. But Danielle knew better. Since she has taken him home, Teddy has come out of his shell. What a miracle that is. He was rescued just 5 days ago.

Danielle describes him as loving and well behaved. He follows her everywhere. He loves to snuggle and sleep very close to Danielle. Teddy is very low key, but loves to give kisses, high fives, and believe it or not, he does Yoga.

Sammy & Family would like to thank Danielle for making the world a better place, one rescue at a time. Its an incredible experience being part of miracle. When we give an innocent life a second chance, life is so enriching. Millions of animals just waiting for a shot at a happy life. And for that, they’ll give anyone and everyone a higher sense a purpose.

We titled this post, “Teddy to the Rescue” because in under a week, Teddy has brought such joy to Danielle’s life.
